Senior HR Business Partner

About the role
Due to continued growth, our Engineering, Trades and Labour Division are currently seeking a  Senior HR Business Partner  to join our highly driven team working under the guidance of our Head of People.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead HR projects while building strong relationships with key stakeholders and managers across the business.

This role will involve working closely with management and employees to address workplace concerns, mediate disputes, and implement policies that promote a positive work culture.  This role offers the chance to make an impact within a large business, all while enhancing your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.  

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing accurate, compliant, and high-quality advice to stakeholders, internal staff and on hire employees. 
  • Providing accurate, compliant and timely advice on the interpretation and application of Awards and Enterprise Agreements, seeking guidance where required
  • Managing employee relations issues and ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and regulations, including a strong understanding of the Fair Work Act 2009, modern awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Providing coaching and guidance to managers on HR Matters such as grievances, complaint management, and disciplinary processes, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and legislative requirement.
  • Driving continuous improvement of HR processes, including onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Supporting the Head of People in the coordination and implementation of key HR projects and initiatives.
  • Championing, protecting, and promoting the organisation’s culture and values across all levels of the business.
  • Organising and maintaining personnel records
  • Assisting in the preparation of HR reports, presentations and internal communication.
  • Supporting immigration-related activities including sponsorship processes and VEVO checks.

About you
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a HR generalist role
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory and regulatory framework
  • Experience in implementing workplace strategies and initiatives to improve organisational performance
  • Previous exposure to workplace relations processes, such as investigation of employment related matters
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach frontline managers and be tactful with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to juggle various HR related tasks in a timely manner
