About the role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist & Implementation Lead to play a key role in the delivery of a new Payroll and Time & Attendance system. This role will suit a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys leading system implementations, improving processes, and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance across the organisation.
You’ll be instrumental in the team by automating payroll processes, improving efficiency, and supporting the business through change, while ensuring payroll is delivered accurately and on time.
You will become the subject matter expert, partner with key stakeholders to deliver system improvements, ensure compliance, and provide expert payroll guidance throughout the organisation.
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A) systems, driving automation and process improvement
- Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies across payroll processes
- Perform high-level system configuration, testing, and data migration activities
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing in line with statutory and legislative requirements
- Translate and interpret complex payroll rules from legacy systems into the new platform
- Provide a consultative, solutions-focused approach to payroll and system issues, advising on best-practice outcomes
- Train and support employees to ensure confident, efficient, and accurate use of the new system
- Prepare and maintain payroll and system reports as required
The successful candidate will bring proven experience in a Senior Payroll Specialist role, along with the following attributes:
- Demonstrated experience playing a key role in payroll and/or finance system implementations
- Strong working knowledge across a broad range of payroll functions, procedures, and processes
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to quickly adapt and add value
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels and delivering clear, accurate advice
