About the role
PeopleIN Group Head of WHS is responsible for the operational delivery of occupational health & safety practices, ensuring compliance with workplace safety legislation, and best practice in the provision of a safe workplace for all internal staff and on-site workers.  
This role will manage emergency management activities with the WHS local teams, and support the risk management, governance, risk, and compliance strategies across the PeopleIN group of companies.
  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the Group Work Health and Safety Strategy
  • Continue to implement a centralised WHS Management System
  • Ensure an effective proactive WHS management system is embedded, driven and utilised to reduce risk, hazard injury or illness to all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with the WHS management system and company policies, procedures and risk management processes
  • Evolve and communicate compliance standards with the onboarding process for onhire staff, clients and internals teams
  • Maintain accreditation to ISO45001
  • Leading and driving client onboarding including training for internal staff on inspections of host client sites
  • Conduct incident investigations, determine root causes, recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions and controls
  • Lead Tender support
  • Complete WHS Reports for the Board of Directors
  • Collate and analyse incident data and trends
About you
To be successful in this role you will be a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business at all levels. You will be career focused with the drive to take on further opportunities and challenges as they arise. 
  
You will also have:
  • Formal qualification in Health and Safety
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role in a relevant industry
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret work health and safety legislation
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on WHS policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively lead the coordination of incident investigations
  • Highly developed decision-making capability, competence in making timely and effective decisions, with an ability to identify opportunities for improvement and commitment to drive outcomes
