About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in Brisbane HQ. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to assist business decision-making.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting month-end and year-end reporting processes.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for our head office entities.  This includes preparation and review of journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring integrity of financial data.
  • Monitor and analyse costs, expenses, and revenue trends.
  • Coordinate and perform month-end and year-end closing activities for the business.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies. Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  • Support the group Financial Controller at half and year end ASX listed financial statements including consolidation and notes. 
  • Support with consolidation and review of group BAS, IAS and statutory compliance reporting
  • Yearly review and consolidation of the group FBT returns.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business at all levels. 

You will need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA is a requirement
  • 3+ years’ experience in a financial accounting role.
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude
  • Self-organised individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level numeracy and with great attention to detail
  • High competency using the MS Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
