About the Role
Due to continued growth and success, we are seeking a high energy, results driven Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives in Melbourne, with a strong focus on new business acquisition and strategic client partnerships.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional who thrives on creating opportunities, building long term relationships, and delivering measurable results. You will play a key role in driving the national business development strategy, leveraging your existing network, and expanding our market presence across multiple industries.
You will enjoy a high level of autonomy and the backing of an established national branch network, supported by experienced Branch Managers, Account Managers, Recruiters, and tender teams. We focus on outcomes not micromanagement, giving you the freedom to pursue opportunities wherever they exist.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute national and regional business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion
- Identify, engage, and secure new clients while strengthening existing relationships
- Manage a high value new business pipeline and leverage your existing network
- Consistently achieve and exceed individual growth and revenue targets
- Conduct business development calls, sales visits, and new client meetings
- Represent the business at industry events to build networks and elevate brand presence
- Work collaboratively with tender and business development teams on bids and proposals
- Support new client onboarding, including credit processes and fee negotiation
- Ensure compliance requirements are met, including WHS risk and hazard assessments where required
- Maintain accurate CRM records and apply discipline to the sales process
You are a proactive self starter with a strategic mindset and an entrepreneurial approach to business development. You thrive in fast-paced, high activity environments and know how to turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within recruitment, labour hire, or workforce solutions
- An established industry network you can leverage to drive growth
- Experience across industries such as mining, major projects, government, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics (preferred)
- A strong track record of consistently meeting and exceeding growth targets
- Confidence in picking up the phone, building rapport, and negotiating commercial outcomes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to adopt CRM systems
- The maturity to manage your workload independently while contributing to a high-performing team
